New clinic may erase family doctor shortage

CAMBRIDGE - If 10 new family doctors move into a big new medical clinic as promised, it could erase Cambridge's chronic physician shortage.
On Monday, Dr. Deepa Takhar convinced city council to ignore a staff recommendation limiting space for doctors in an industrial building she purchased last year at Franklin Boulevard and Raglin Place.

Family health team adds doctors

Cambridge won't be suffering from a shortage of doctors much longer if physician Dr. Deepa Takhar has her way.
The founder of the Canamera Family Health Network is adding another physician to her network's roster starting in February. And she's on track to add two more, one in April and another in May, each potentially taking on 2,000 patients.
